Urban Drape is a contemporary, handloom artisanal saree brand from the house of Fashion Market, Sri Lanka- built on the philosophy of using fashion as a medium to encourage and inspire a modern sense of female integrity in saree wearers around the world. 

THE ASK:

Keen to expand their consumer catchment to India, but unsure of entering a cluttered and competitive Indian market. 

WHAT DID WE LEARN?

Research indicated that the saree consumer was deeply impacted by word-of-mouth, and constantly seeking a new expression. 

WHAT DID WE DO?

Post a dipstick consumer profiling, we built a three-tiered expansion plan taking the brand into prestigious boutiques and curated exhibitions. Of which we met most success when we connected the human to the brand- Engaging ‘real women’ societal influencers to host ‘home-events’ that were on an invite-only basis. Hence draping the brand in a very personalized and exclusive light. 

This was completed with the support of buying assistance, exhibition design and social media influencer tie-ups.
